Christmas has come early for Australia's 650+ macadamia growers, with the news that the 24% tariff on macadamia imports from Australia to its largest trading partner China will now be removed over the next four years.

We're delighted to announce that once again Australian macadamia producers have achieved a perfect score in the 2014/15 National Residue Survey. Our unblemished record has been upheld for 15 years straight and is testament to the world-class in-crop and post-harvest practices of our growers. The programme screens Australian macadamias for a range of chemical pesticides and environmental contaminants and these outstanding results serve to reinforce our global reputation as a clean, green producer of the world's finest macadamias.

Australia's macadamia growers have produced the largest Australian macadamia crop ever - 48,300 tonnes in-shell @ 10% moisture (45,100 tonnes in-shell at 3.5% moisture), announced the Australian Macadamia Society (AMS) today. 

Australian macadamias will step into the spotlight in China for the first time this week, with the launch of a million dollar consumer marketing campaign in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The Australian tree nut crop has delivered an impressive $1.2 billion at farm gate and over $1 billion to the Australian economy in export earnings in 2015 and this is only set to continue, announced the Australian Nut Industry Council (ANIC) today.
