Global tree nut production: 5.77% growth forecast

The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council has released its latest Global Statistical Review with production trends for a host of tree nuts as well as peanuts, pine nuts and dried fruit for 2016/17. World tree nut production was 3.8 million metric tons in 2015/16 (kernel basis except for pistachios), with production for 2016/17 expected to grow 5.77% to 4.02 million MT. Global macadamia production is forecast to be 44,511 MT.
